This special bag is made from the “curina”, the inner, softer and most resistant part of the Sicilian dwarf palm leaves, passing through a traditional craft process that makes every piece unique and totally made and sewn by hand.
Richly embellished with hand-sewn fabrics, pom poms, mirrors, and brass medallions, perfect for the city, the countryside, or the beach. The opulent adornments reflect typical Sicilian horses and carts.
Local artisan Pino is one of the last remaining practitioners of this fading craft. It takes two full days to make each coffa bag and three more days for our special embroiderer Linda to sew all the trimmings by hand.
